One of the easiest and most flexible plugin to create contact form in WordPress is the Contact Form 7 plugin. This plugin has had more than 5 million active installations. Although the plugin has a few settings, there are plenty of additional plugins available on WordPress where you can make your form more professional.
Once the WordPress Contact Form plugin is installed and enabled, the contact form option is added to your admin panel. By default, it creates a contact form. The image below is a sample form which is made by Contact Form 7 Plugin.
As you can see, there are some tools above the plugin environment where you can create more professional forms. For example, you can insert various types of fields such as phone numbers or emails, checkboxes or radio buttons, file uploads, captcha code, etc.
In the original version of Contact Form 7, the messages from the form, is sent only to the email and will not be stored on the site itself. Of course, there are add-on plugnis that complement Contact Form 7 plugin and allow you to save the message on the WordPress site.
Now that we have installed the original version of the plugin, so the user-filled information is only emailed to the admin. So in the second tab, you can edit the email settings. The tags above the plugin can also be filled in by you in the text of the email. The plugin also sets up an email template.
It’s natural that when a user fills out the form and clicks on the send button, they must be notified that their message has been successfully sent or there has been a problem on sending information. So you can specify all the messages the user may encounter on completing the form on the message tab. Of course, the default messages are written in this section and most of the time there is no need to edit them. But anyway, if you want to change the text of the messages, check out this section.
After you’ve made your form, we need to display it in a section of the site so that we can direct users to the form page. To do this, we need to use the Contact Form 7 plugin shortcode. To view the shortcode, see the contact form in the admin panel. You see a shortcode in front of your form. Copy it and create a new page, for example, name it Contact Us, then copy the code into the page and publish it. After visiting the page, you will see your created form.
